This is a sample of a progressive video created with Flash. Progressive video is much like streaming video, but it does not require a special server. Like streaming video, the progressive video data begins loading when the page is opened. The viewer can begin watching the video almost immediately without having to wait for the file to finish downloading. This is a very simple solution for sites that won't have a large audience of viewers trying to watch video at the same time.
We can create progressive or streaming video in Flash, Quicktime or Windows Media formats. Nearly all computers have the Flash plug-in installed, so Flash is an excellent choice for sites that need to support the largest possible population of computers and systems. Quicktime and Windows Media both have large installed bases on both Macintosh and Windows computers, so those are both excellent choices as well. Many sites offer videos in two or three formats and allow visitors to choose the file in the format they prefer.
