Add Life to Ground Engaging Tools with ARM

There might be some regular dirt somewhere in Arizona, but you could run heavy equipment here every day for ten years and never encounter any. What we have plenty of are rocks and sand and caliche and more rocks. It's all harsh, gritty material. Do some serious digging and you'll be amazed how fast your expensive bucket tips and edges disappear.

We can't stop Arizona's harsh soil from eating your buckets and Ground Engaging Tools (GET), but we can slow the process by applying Abrasion Resistant Material to critical wear areas. Equipment operators working in abrasive material have discovered ARM significantly prolongs GET life. That lets them get work done instead of spending all of their time replacing steel that's been scoured away.

The ARM tool in Empire's Weld Shop can burn abrasion resistant material onto bucket tips, edges, corners, rippers, blades and other GET. The process will ordinarily double the price of the GET, but the ARM typically triples the life of the component. In some cases, it increases component life by four or five times.

You save money by buying GET less often and you save more by increasing change-out intervals.

ARM is a great solution in many cases, but it's not a good idea in high-impact applications. If you move frequently between abrasive material and high-impact material, ARM may not be right for you. Your Empire PSSR can help you determine whether or not you will benefit from ARM in your applications. Talk to him or click here for more information.
