We designed a Joomla site for Generation Health magazine.

Web 2.0 Interactive Content

In recent years, programers have found ways to add tremendous interactivity to web sites. The sites allow visitors to do far more than simply look at content. They let visitors contribute to the site, create their own pages and interact with other users and the site administrators.

Content management systems (CMS) also make it easy for non-experts to update and edit site content without expensive site-creation software.

We use Joomla to create our interactive sites. Joomla is an open-source, PHP-based system for managing dynamic content. Users with proper permissions can submit news stories, create blogs, comment on other entries, participate in message boards and even upload their own photos and videos to the site. One of Joomla's strengths is its ability to manage placement of banner advertising on specific pages. Banners can be rotated, and the database can track the number of times a banner ad is clicked.

Joomla and Forme are our tools for creating online forms that users can fill out and submit to send information to site owners. Forms can be simple with contact information, or they can be highly complex with fields that let users apply for credit, submit job applications or order products. Online shopping areas are actually just sophisticated forms.
